That view over the Forum was my backyard for a long long time. It was on my way to morning yoga or the long way from the grocery store. I stopped, and audibly gasped, pretty much every. single.time.
I was just saying the same thing to my friend a few days ago: my very favorite part of travel is seeing that place, that “thing” for the very first time. It’s precious and you will never get that moment back. I look forward to it and really try to cherish each of these moments.

Amazing! I would take the long way every time. :)
Gosh that is quite the backyard Gillian!
I was so lucky 💗
Learned something new about one of my favorite travel writers today! George Clooney, huh? 😉
I think it's my favourite answer to that question so far!
Favorite person.... mmhhh... I just downloaded Graham Greene's "Travels with my Aunt", I think she must be the top trip companion!
I've always meant to read that! Would love to hear your review Martine
I will, I promise. I saw the play adaptation many years ago and it was beautiful and hilarious.

Jodi is an inspiration. We are like minded when it comes to travel. Checking out her substack. Thanks.
