I loved Dubrovnik, though I’ve never stumbled upon the octopus burger place. But I fondly remember my visit to Dubrovnik was the first time I tried bibimbap, a Korean dish made with rice and beef and a ton of veggies and topped with hot salsa. It’s become one of my favourite dishes ever.

Oh this sounds incredible and like something I need! Highly recommend the octopus burger if you ever find yourself back there though.

I had Octopus in Morocco. A fine dining experience where I found the texture quite meat like. Mine didn't have a lot of flavour. Maybe I would enjoy a burger more. Croatia is on my bucket list, having visited Yugoslavia in the 80's. I thought it was beautiful.

It sounds delicious. I’m so curious what the inside of the burger looks like: is it one chunk of octopus? Ground and shaped patties? A bunch of suckers crowded together into a mass?? I have no idea why my brain is so obsessed with this question. 😀

It was like fish in a pattie! I don't know whether it was ground but it was certainy pattie shaped! I completely understand the obsession here though, I was very curious how it would look!

I also like to just dive in without much research! And never recognize famous people anyway haha.

I love eating octopus and always feel bad about it because they are really smart, apparently.

It was SO great to interview you on my podcast! Thank you again! Also, funny, my post this week is on Croatia, too.

I've heard they are really smart! Croatia as a country is clearly very unbothered by this. Thanks so much for having me, and really excited to read your post about Croatia!

I have a complicated relationship with octopuses. I love to eat them, but I love them too. I’ve read The Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery, an awesome memoir type of book, making me almost do whatever it takes to buy an octopus for a pet. Then I read Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt, a fantastic novel. Of course, I saw My Octopus Teacher on Netflix. It has all made me redefine my version of even what cannibalism means. It’s a complicated relationship, mixing up love and guilt, for they are remarkable creatures.
